Very often clients come to us after we’ve completed a remodel or new home and express their desire to uplevel their Christmas decor to match the new and improved spaces they live and work in …. Such was the case with our darling clients, Mike and Pam Peterson.
The Peterson family holiday tradition is to celebrate Thanksgiving at Pam’s sister’s home and Christmas at The Ranch. The sisters go to each other’s homes and prepare days in advance…farm wives don’t leave things to chance. They visit and bake and cook and weave lots of love and warmth into the dinners they put on for their treasured family.
Because Thanksgiving is celebrated elsewhere, we were able to get Christmas going early at Peterson Ranch, spending three fun-filled days creating a bright, shiny, happy place for Mike and Pam to share with over 25 of their closest family and friends. This will be their first year in their “new” home. The entryway houses their family nativity scene and the living room contains the centerpiece of every festive Christmas tradition, the tree. Every nook and cranny was addressed. Even “Nana’s Bathroom,” perfectly preserved in all it’s red velvet-flocked glory, received the royal treatment.
At the conclusion of our glitter-strewn decorating frenzy, we celebrated the generosity and enthusiasm of the Petersons, by putting together a festive mimosa brunch featuring Mike’s mother’s green glass plates and vintage barware.
From all of us at Wendy Glaister Interiors, and the Peterson Family…Happy Christmas to All!
