Wendy Glaister: Not All Challenges Are Design Related

Episode 386 of A Well-Designed Business®

Wendy Glaister Interiors is located in Modesto, California. And Wendy is an interior designer who has mastered the art of listening. She listens to her clients, to understand the things that will make their homes feel uniquely special, she listens to architects, to help make their vision come to fruition, and she listens to contractors, collaborating with their craftspeople and artisans to bring out the very best in every member of the team.

Wendy is a delightful speaker, whether to an audience of design students or a seasoned group of interior design professionals. She is engaging, using self-deprecating humor to immediately disarm and warm her audience. She is currently serving as president of the Central Californian Nevada chapter of the ASID. Listen in to find out what Wendy has to share with you on the show today.

Designer Christmas Décor Hacks

Christmas Tip Talk

I’m so happy to be here to share just a few little tricks that will give your viewers great ideas for creating a designer look in their home.

The most important part is to honor your family traditions. In this home, it’s a faith-focused Christmas which is personified in the Mark Robert’s Nativity scene. It sets the tone for the entire home, and you’ll see these colors repeated over and over again to lend a cohesive look to the entire space.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Inaugural Carnegie Arts Center

Designer Show House 2018

It is our great pleasure to have been selected as the designers for the Dining Room. Many thanks to the Carnegie Arts Center for including us in this very special event and to the Lazar’s for lending their home for the benefit and promotion of the Arts.

The room is inspired by the cheerful, upbeat architecture and details of the original home. Our color palette is a vibrant navy, lime green and crisp white. Textures and scale are a central focus of the room, as demonstrated by our Strohiem grass-cloth wallpaper, herringbone wainscoting, sea-grass and wool rugs, Hunter Douglas woven wood window shades, and oversized Hickory Chair lantern. Our art piece has been graciously loaned by the incomparable Trey Reed, whose intention and generosity perfectly reflect the tone of our joyful space.
